R2D2 PIANO

Concept Design & Fabrication

This build was commissioned by the popular series Player Piano as part of their Star Wars Medley campaign. Upon its release, the R2-D2 piano has been featured in such news outlets as Entertainment Weekly, Forbes, USA Today, and Mashable. It consists of many laser-cut plastic panels and several custom MDF components mounted onto a baby grand piano. Its features include fully detailed "droid feet" and incorporation of droid-like features such as vents and fans.
